黃湘婷當年在得獎後便回歸學生身分、專心學業，直到9年後成為大學生，因緣際會擔任節目「客家熱點子」主持，才又重返螢光幕前。

黃湘婷今年首次主持就入圍金鐘獎，將與胡瓜、徐乃麟、曾國城等大前輩一同競爭，問到會不會想拿獎，她說，自己得不得獎是其次，比較希望節目可以拿下綜合節目獎。
